This recipe is a favorite in our house. I love making these pull-apart bread cinnamon rolls because they are delicious, sticky, and gooey just like cinnamon rolls but not as much work and don’t take as much time. My husband gets so excited whenever I make these he loves them so much. Also with this recipe, you could easily add in some raisins or nuts if you like those in your cinnamon rolls. Step-by-Step instructions
First, you will want to get your ingredients and utensils out.
Get your 12 Rhodes rolls out of the freezer so they can thaw. I put them in a greased pie tin and let them sit for 1-2 hours just until they are thawed. You can use other dough if you would like. We like Rhodes rolls though.
Next, melt your 3/4 cup butter in a small bowl. You don’t want to melt the butter too much. You don’t want the butter to separate.
Mix up 1 C. sugar, 1 C. brown sugar, 2TBSP. cinnamon, and 1/4tsp. nutmeg into a medium bowl.
Now you can cut up each thawed roll into 5 pieces.
Line 12 pieces up on the parchment paper and place another piece of parchment paper on top and roll the pieces flat.
Now, you will take one of the flat pieces of dough and dip it into the butter so it is coated in butter.
Then put the piece of dough in the sugar mixture and cover and coat well and put on a plate.
I stack 6 pieces at a time and then you will cut them in half.
and place them cut side down in your ungreased pan.
Do these same steps with all 12 rolls. You will have enough to fill a pie tin. If you have leftover butter and sugar mixture spread it over the dough in your pan.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and put your pan in the oven and cook for 10-15min. until golden brown or a little darker brown on the tops of the dough. It will be bubbly when you take it out.
Set your pan aside on a trivet and let cool. While that is cooling your are going to make your delicious cream cheese frosting.
Get your ingredients and utensils out.
Make sure your 6TBSP cream cheese and 1/4 C. butter are room tempature so they are easier to beat together.
After that is well-beaten add in the 1 1/2 C. of powdered sugar. Only 1/2 cup at a time so it doesn’t poof up and you get powdered sugar everywhere.
after you mix the powdered sugar in well add in the 1/2tsp. vanilla.
The more you beat the frosting the better. Beat it for a few minutes so it is smooth and airy. Now you can dish up some pull-apart cinnamon rolls with some frosting and enjoy this delicious treat!
